Holly - from 9 to 14 years

Some sketch of the history of Holly shortly before and during the first five books of the saga of Percy Jackson .
I changed a little her story: instead of making her stay home in the harassment of her grandmother until her 11/12 years, Holly ran away from home at 9 years and, a few months after her escape, a satyr named Colin brought her to the camp that became her new home. Percy and Annabeth then convinced her to return home, to the delight of her mother and the anger of the grandmother who will send her to the Wilderness School.

01. I Hate Everything About You age 9

It wasn't the first time that my grandmother raised her voice to me. Usually mom could stop her or calm her down, but this time my mother wasn't at home. At home was just me, she and her shouting. Only that I was wrong, this time grandmother would stop only to the shouting. We were alone, no one could help me, I was at her mercy. I realized what she was going to do only after my cheek was in flames. She slapped me, shouting obscenities in my face that I don't even want to remember. It had all happened so fast and I don't remember the exact order of events. But I am sure of this: placing my cold hand on the injury cheek I shouted "I HATE YOU!", and then run away from the doorway with tears in my eyes. I never turned back.

02. Gotta Go My Own Way age 9 and half

Had already been two months since Colin had brought me to the camp. I was glad I no longer live on the street and don't have to beg to put something in the stomach. I still didn't know who was my father and so I was still living in the cabin of Hermes. A nice place although you had to be always with your eyes open or they'll also stole yours shoes, but Luke gave me a hand. Also Annabeth, they were like two older brothers to me.
They could understand me, unlike Chiron. He was always trying to change my mind, make me reconnect with my family, but my answer was always the same: "I'll never go back home!".

03. Zero to Hero age 10

I'm in the hall watching all settle down the Greek armors. I'm in the same team of Annabeth and Luke which consisted in the cabins of Athena, Hermes and Apollo (that in the few months before I found to be the my cabin) and with us there is also the newcomer, Percy Jackson.
...
I found myself looking in disbelief the symbol shining over the head of Percy, a sea green trident. Still incredulous I'm forced by my brother Will to bow, following Chiron's lead like the rest of the campers.
"Poseidon" said Chiron. "Earthshaker, Stormbringer, Father of horses. Hail, Perseus Jackson, son of the Sea God".
A few moments later all I managed to say, still looking in the point where the symbol was gone, was "The son of... Poseidon?"


04. That's What Friends Are age 11

"You can see the family resemblance" Tantalus said and then he and most of the hall burst out laughing. I shouted disappointed to my siblings "Guy please! Stop, that is mean!" and then I looked around and glared at all the others for laughing. I even see Annabeth laughing quietly with her siblings which actually make me quite angry. Poor Perce, I think as I see him go away.

05. Magic age 11

With the latest mission and the Golden Fleece, Thalia's tree, the magical border in defense of our camp, was safe. Of course, we didn't expect what would happen shortly after. I was called by Lee and his agitation had agitated me, making me run from the infirmary to the pine in less than a minute. "The tree become a person??" I couldn't believe what my brother had just told me, but I had to change my mind when I saw in the arms of Percy a girl with black hair, I knew immediately who she is: Thalia Grace, the daughter of Zeus.

06. Last Friday Night age 12

The visit of the Slayers of Artemis shook the entire camp and this friendly against them had become a real challenge for the supremacy. I wasn't surprised that much when they were winning, sighing I took off the helmet from my head and tore the arrow that was stuck and then move slowly towards the river where they had all gathered. My whole body was sore and when I got there I found myself in front of the pathetic scene of Thalia and Percy who fulminated and showered each other. "Perce... Thalia... really?!" "HOLLY!" shouted one of my brothers, certainly worried about my injuries "I'm ok Ryan..."

07. He Lives in You age 13

It wasn't the first time I was in front of one of these fires, but before today I had never fully understood they could hurt so much. As I watch the pall that envelops the body of my brother, I cann't help but burst into tears. Why my brother, why right Lee. "Lee..." I sob clutching the black cap that he had given me in early summer. I keep crying desperate while Will hugs me gently.

08. Eyes Open age 14

I lean wearily against the wall of the room of the hotel where Percy led me and Will to heal Annabeth wounded during the fighting in the streets of Manhattan. I watch my brother put the final assistance to my friend and then make sure that she has no other injuries. I move my gaze to the window, wondering if we will resist till the arrival of the gods. I think of Michael, another of my brothers that I lost in this absurd war and I decide. I move away from the wall and rotten to the door, but I'm stopped by Will who asks me where I'm going concerned. When I say that I want to return to fight with our brothers, that he is enough to take care of Annabeth, he grabs my arm stronger and begs me to not go. "I'LL NOT GIVE UP THIS FIGHT WILL! I'll fight with Percy till the end! For Michael... and for Lee!".
